Luc Carvounas

Luc Carvounas is a French politician and the mayor of Alfortville in the Val-de-Marne department, associated with the Socialist Party. He serves as the president of the Union nationale des centres communaux d’action sociale (UNCCAS), advocating for the protection and continuation of public social action centers that assist vulnerable populations, such as the elderly and disabled. Recently, he mobilized UNCCAS members against a government proposal to make these centers optional in municipalities with over 1,500 inhabitants, emphasizing the importance of these institutions in supporting community welfare.
