Lucien Mérignac

Lucien Mérignac was a French fencing champion and Olympic athlete, known for his remarkable contributions to the sport. He was presented with a rare bronze cast of Auguste Rodin’s sculpture The Kiss as a marriage gift in 1904, symbolizing love and artistry. After moving back to France, he continued to influence the sport by serving as a fencing instructor at the Prytanée military school.
