Lucile Racon

Lucile Racon, also known as Sister André, was recognized as the world's oldest living person before her passing at the age of 118 in January 2023. Born on February 11, 1904, in Alès, France, she spent much of her life as a nun and dedicated her later years to helping others. Her remarkable longevity was attributed to a combination of genetics, a positive outlook on life, and a healthy lifestyle. Racon became a symbol of resilience and hope, inspiring many during her lifetime, and her record was succeeded by Maria Branyas Morera after her death.
