Ludvig Filip I was the King of the French from 1830 to 1848, known for his role in the July Monarchy, which sought to balance the interests of the bourgeoisie while maintaining a constitutional monarchy. Born on October 6, 1773, he was a member of the House of Orléans and became the last king to rule France before the establishment of the Second Republic. His reign was marked by economic growth and political stability, but also by social unrest and demands for greater democracy. He abdicated in the wake of the February Revolution of 1848 and spent the remainder of his life in exile in England.
