Luigi Colombo was a prominent Italian sports journalist and a pioneer in television commentary, known for introducing the two-voice commentary format on Telemontecarlo alongside José Altafini. Over his illustrious career, he covered more than 550 international matches and reported on three Olympic Games and three UEFA European Championships. Colombo's contributions to sports broadcasting extended beyond commentary, as he also served as a director for Sisal TV and the newspaper Lo Sportsman. His life and career were encapsulated in his memoir, 'Passo doppio. Ricordi di vita, di calcio e di tivù.' He passed away at the age of 79, remembered for his innovative spirit and his deep connection to the sport.
