Luis Antonio Rosario

Luis Antonio 'Papo' Rosario was a celebrated Puerto Rican salsa singer and a key member of the renowned orchestra 'El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico'. Born on April 4, 1947, he joined the group in 1980, replacing Mike Ramos, and became known for his vibrant performances and hit songs like 'Carbonerito' and 'Jala jala'. Rosario's contributions to salsa music earned him international recognition and a dedicated fanbase, making him a beloved figure in the genre until his passing at the age of 78 on December 12, 2025.
