Luis Bernini González

Luis Bernini González was a respected Costa Rican football referee and member of the Arbitration Commission, known for his extensive career in national and international officiating. He passed away on April 19, 2023, at the age of 77 due to cancer. Bernini was also notable for his role as a FIFA instructor and is remembered for his controversial decision to expel Alajuelense defender Mauricio Montero in a memorable match in 1991.
