Luis Cordón Lucero

Luis Cordón Lucero serves as the Secretary General of the Universidad de San Carlos de Guatemala (Usac) and is noted for his close ties to the current rector, Walter Mazariegos. He has been involved in overseeing various maintenance and renovation projects at the university, which are currently causing the central campus to be closed until at least mid-2026. Cordón's role is significant as he is also associated with the newly established Universidad Juan José Arévalo Bermejo, slated for authorization in 2024.
