Luis Diego Hernández Araya

Luis Diego Hernández Araya is the coordinator of the Environmental Agricultural Prosecutor's Office of the Public Ministry in Costa Rica. He has been actively involved in investigating illegal land trafficking and the unlawful granting of construction permits that threaten protected areas, particularly the Gandoca-Manzanillo National Wildlife Refuge. His work includes highlighting the systemic misuse of legal mechanisms to convert state lands into private property for profit, and he has been vocal about the urgent need for environmental authorities to enforce protective measures for endangered ecosystems.
