Luis Eduardo Parra Arango
Luis Eduardo Parra Arango, affectionately known as 'Tanos', was a beloved figure in the San Bernardo neighborhood of Bogotá, where he spent nearly six decades of his life. His journey began at the age of 15 when he moved there with his family from Tolima, and he became deeply rooted in the community. Parra was a skilled barber who once ran several successful barber shops but faced significant hardships after a near-fatal accident that left him in a coma and ultimately led to the decline of his businesses. Despite the challenges posed by increasing violence in the area, he chose to remain in San Bernardo, believing that as long as one does not engage in wrongdoing, they would be safe. Tragically, he became the latest victim in a wave of violence attributed to gang conflicts, dying from injuries sustained in a grenade attack on March 25, 2024.
