Luis Felipe Aldana Cermeño

Luis Felipe Aldana Cermeño is the head of the Budget Department at the Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance (MSPAS) in Guatemala. He was recently linked to a criminal process for ideological falsehood in connection with a multimillion-dollar agreement between MSPAS and the United Nations Office for Project Services (Unops), which was signed in April 2024. Allegations against him include authorizing the disbursement of funds and signing documents with false declarations, facilitating an advance on a contract valued at approximately $943.9 million intended for the procurement of medical supplies and medications. The ongoing investigation has revealed irregularities, including questionable quality of delivered medications and undocumented payments.
