Luis Fernando Sánchez Caicedo

Luis Fernando Sánchez Caicedo was a dedicated human rights advocate in Colombia, focusing on the rights of Afro-descendant and campesino communities in the Pacific region. He was a prominent leader and adviser in Nariño and collaborated with the Institute for Development and Peace Studies (Indepaz) to promote dialogue in a country affected by decades of conflict. His life was tragically cut short in September when he was killed in an attack reportedly involving the Colombian navy.
