Luis Ñahuis

Luis Ñahuis is the mayor of Santa Eulalia, a district in the province of Huarochirí, Peru. He has been vocal about the recurring exposure of his community to natural disasters, such as floods and landslides, exacerbated by inadequate infrastructure and a lack of effective preventive policies. Recently, he has called for the declaration of a state of emergency to secure immediate resources and machinery to protect the local population from the threats posed by rising river levels and heavy rains.
