Luis Rosales Marroquín

Luis Rosales Marroquín is a Guatemalan lawyer and notary with a long-standing career in legislative and legal arenas. He graduated from Universidad Rafael Landívar in 2002 and later earned a master's degree in Parliamentary Law from Universidad San Pablo de Guatemala in 2011. Rosales has held various political roles, including serving as a congressman from 2000 to 2004 and later as a deputy in the Central American Parliament. He played a significant role in the legal defense of former dictator Efraín Ríos Montt during a high-profile genocide trial. In 2021, he was appointed as an alternate magistrate of the Constitutional Court of Guatemala, a position he continues to hold while discussing the interplay between constitutional law and politics in the country.
