
Luisa Fiorot
Luisa Fiorot is an Italian mathematician and associate professor of Geometry at the University of Padua. Born in 1975, she gained recognition for solving a part of one of the 23 unsolved problems identified by David Hilbert in 1900. Her work, conducted with colleagues Teresa Monteiro Fernandes and Claude Sabbah, generalized a solution originally found in 1984. Fiorot is the first Italian woman to receive the prestigious '2025 Frontiers of Science Award' for her contributions to mathematics.
