Luke Veloso

Luke Veloso was one of the six Tongan boys who, in 1965, embarked on a perilous journey across the Pacific Ocean on a stolen fishing boat, only to be cast away on the uninhabited island of ‘Ata for 15 months. Their tale is one of survival, friendship, and resilience, as they developed their own rules and worked together to overcome the challenges of life on a deserted island.
