M. Rainer Lepsius

M. Rainer Lepsius (1928–2014) was a prominent German sociologist known for his work on the relationship between charisma and political authority, particularly in the context of the Nazi regime. His groundbreaking study in 1986 applied Max Weber's charisma theory to Adolf Hitler's leadership, providing new insights into the sociopolitical dynamics of Germany from 1918 to 1934. Lepsius aimed to analyze and free Germany from its cognitive self-deception rooted in the legacy of National Socialism.
