
M. Špokas
M. Špokas is the head of the National Sports Agency (NSA) in Lithuania, a position he has held since the agency's establishment in the summer of 2022. He has a notable background in sports administration, having previously served as the general secretary for both the Lithuanian Swimming Federation and the Lithuanian Basketball Federation, as well as being a member of the FIBA Executive Committee. An accomplished athlete himself, Špokas is a former Olympian, a winner of the World Swimming Cup stage, and a multiple-time Lithuanian champion in swimming and water polo. He was also the chairman of the organizing committee for the European Basketball Championship in 2011. The NSA's primary mission is to effectively manage state funding for sports, support talented athletes, and promote physical activity in Lithuania.
