Maaz al-Kassasbeh

Maaz al-Kassasbeh was a 26-year-old pilot in the Royal Jordanian Air Force who became widely known after his capture and brutal execution by ISIS in 2015. His tragic fate, captured on video and released by the terrorist organization, drew international outrage and highlighted the extreme brutality of ISIS. Al-Kassasbeh's death became a rallying point for anti-ISIS sentiment and underscored the dangers faced by pilots conducting missions against the group during the Syrian Civil War.
