Madame Lynch
Madame Lynch, born in Ireland in 1833, was the partner of Paraguayan dictator Francisco Solano López. She played a significant role in Paraguayan history during the 19th century, particularly during the War of the Triple Alliance. After her death in France in 1886, her remains were interred in the Recoleta Cemetery in Asunción, Paraguay, where they remained until a recent congressional decision to grant her posthumous Paraguayan citizenship and transfer her remains to the Panteón de los Héroes. This decision has sparked debate among lawmakers about her legacy and whether she deserves such honor.
