Madhuri Gupta
Madhuri Gupta was a former Indian diplomat who served as the second secretary for press and information at the Indian High Commission in Islamabad. Her career took a dramatic turn when she was arrested in 2010 for passing sensitive military information to Pakistani intelligence agents, a case that highlighted the vulnerabilities of diplomatic personnel to manipulation. Gupta became embroiled in a honeytrap orchestrated by Pakistani officials, which ultimately led to her conviction under the Official Secrets Act in 2018. She lived in seclusion after her conviction and passed away in 2021, with an appeal against her sentence pending at the time of her death.
