Magdalena Zaruma is a 54-year-old resident of Guayaquil who has cherished the character Mafalda since her childhood, recalling fond memories of watching the series with her mother and reading the comic strips in the newspaper EL UNIVERSO. She was among the many fans who visited the sculpture of Mafalda at Malecón 2000, excited to reconnect with a beloved figure from her youth.
