Mahendra of Nepal

King Mahendra of Nepal reigned from 1950 until his death in 1972 and is known for his efforts to modernize Nepal and establish a partyless political system. He was also passionate about hunting, arranging extravagant hunting trips that included foreign royalty, and played a significant role in the transition from hunting for sport to conservation efforts towards the end of his reign.
