Maik Johansen was a Ukrainian modernist writer of Scandinavian descent, known for his innovative poetry that heroized the Bolshevik struggle during the tumultuous period of the Russian Civil War. His works reflect the complexities of identity and belonging amidst the violence of war, but he ultimately fell victim to Stalin's purges in 1937.
