Maksym Yali is a professor at the Kyiv Aviation Institute and a noted expert on geopolitical issues concerning the post-Soviet space and Russian propaganda. From 2017 to 2019, he participated as a panelist in popular Russian political talk shows, including notorious programs hosted by Vladimir Solovyov, where he defended the Ukrainian perspective. His firsthand experience with Russian propaganda began in 2014 during the conflict in Ukraine, particularly in his hometown of Mariupol, which was under threat from Russian forces. With a background in international relations and a long-standing interest in the information warfare aspect of the conflict, Yali has sought to understand how propaganda shapes narratives and influences public perception, drawing from both academic and personal experiences.
