Maninder Dutt, a 21-year-old from Jalandhar, Punjab, was in the news after being deported from the US to India via Panama. He reportedly paid Rs 42 lakh to a Delhi-based illegal immigration agent to facilitate his perilous journey through multiple countries, including Spain and Guatemala, before reaching the US.
