Manuel Argüello Mora

Manuel Argüello Mora (1834-1902) was a Costa Rican writer known for his literary contributions during the 19th century. A prominent figure in Costa Rican literature, he is best recognized for his novel 'Misterio o Risasy llantos', published in installments in the magazine 'Costa Rica ilustrada'. Mora was also the nephew of President Juan Rafael Mora and his works often reflect the social dynamics and language usage of his time, particularly the distinctions between the pronouns 'tú', 'vos', and 'usted' in Costa Rican Spanish.
