Manuel Mira

Manuel Mira was a dedicated educator and former combatant of the FMLN, known for his extensive contributions to the field of education in El Salvador. He served as a director at several educational institutions, including the Joaquín Rodezno and República de Chile schools, and held leadership roles within teachers' unions such as ANDES 21 de Junio and SITADMES. Mira was detained arbitrarily under the state's emergency regime, suffering from severe health issues due to inadequate medical care while imprisoned. His tragic death shortly after his release has drawn attention to the injustices faced by many in El Salvador, highlighting the urgent need for accountability and humane treatment within the criminal justice system.
