Manuel Rivera Hernández

Manuel Rivera Hernández is the former treasurer of the Junta Comunal de Salud in Chagres, Panama. He recently made headlines due to his involvement in a corruption case, where he was charged with the crime of embezzlement related to the mismanagement of funds allocated for social development projects. Along with the mayor of Chagres, Eugenio Delgado, Rivera Hernández was placed under house arrest after authorities conducted raids and uncovered alleged irregularities concerning $1.4 million designated for the Program of Social Interest Development (PDIS) between 2019 and 2024. This case is part of a broader investigation by the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, which has implicated numerous local officials in similar financial mismanagement.
