Manuela Brito

Manuela Brito is a prominent Cape Verdean politician and the leader of the MpD (Movement for Democracy) parliamentary group in the Municipality of Praia. Recently, she was in the news for criticizing the President of the Câmara Municipal da Praia, Francisco Carvalho, for his attempts to cancel the commemoration of the 13th of January, a national holiday celebrating freedom and democracy, by mandating municipal workers to work on that day and postponing the Corrida da Liberdade event.
