Marcela Bucheli

Marcela Bucheli is a dedicated labor activist and long-time employee of the Concentración Deportiva de Pichincha, who recently made headlines for leading a three-day strike to reclaim her job after being unjustly dismissed during the COVID-19 pandemic. With nearly 40 years of service at the institution, Marcela transitioned from a career in psychology to commercial engineering, becoming a prominent member of the Confederación Ecuatoriana de Organizaciones Sindicales Libres. As she approaches retirement, Marcela emphasizes the importance of workers' rights and the need for solidarity among laborers, reflecting on her own experiences of perseverance and advocacy throughout her career.
