Marcelina Pereyra

Marcelina Pereyra was born in 1910 in La Gallareta, Santa Fe, and was known for her strikingly fair complexion, which she perceived as a divine gift that allowed her to navigate the societal structures of her time. As a member of a large family with eight siblings of darker skin, she often reflected on her appearance as a ticket to a more privileged life. Her father, a red-haired foreman in the quebracho timber industry, contributed to her unique heritage, which combined elements of European ancestry with the complexities of Argentine identity.
