Marcelo Rubén Bordón Leiva

Marcelo Rubén Bordón Leiva is a former director of the Unit of Contracting at the Instituto de Previsión Social (IPS) in Paraguay. He was recently in the news following his appearance before Judge Rodrigo Estigarribia as part of a legal investigation into the alleged embezzlement of approximately G. 61 billion related to failed surgical unit renovations. During the hearing, he, along with other implicated individuals, was granted freedom under certain conditions, including posting a bail of G. 500 million and periodic reporting to the court.
