Marco Affatigato was a former member of the far-right Italian group Ordine Nuovo, known for his controversial involvement in Italy's political violence during the late 20th century. Born in Lucca, Italy, in 1957, he was linked to several notorious events, including the Ustica and Bologna massacres of 1980. Over the years, he faced multiple legal issues, including a conviction for attempted reconstitution of a fascist party and aiding a notorious terrorist. After years of living in hiding with multiple arrest warrants for financial crimes, Affatigato was arrested in 2016 in Nice, France, where he was sentenced to prison. He returned to Nice after his release, where he was found dead in April 2025, with early reports suggesting suicide as a possible cause.
