Marcus Thousand

Born on March 31, 1966, Marcus Thousand, known as 'Bionic Steve' or 'Pirate', was a Jamaican musician who gained fame in the early 1990s with his hit song 'Fly di Gate'. This track became emblematic of political rallies, urging the Prime Minister of the day to announce election dates. Tragically, his life was cut short when he was murdered on January 17, 1997, leaving behind a legacy in Jamaican music and culture.
