Margarita Reyes

Margarita Reyes is a resilient woman from Morelos, Mexico, who ran a family kitchen business for five years until it was violently disrupted by criminal extortion demands from La Familia Michoacana. After she could no longer pay the monthly quota to the gang, her husband Felipe was murdered, and her son was severely injured in a subsequent attack. Faced with the loss of her family and the collapse of her business, she made the difficult decision to flee with her family, seeking safety and assistance from the government.
