Margarita Shchirets

Margarita Shchirets, a 40-year-old resident of Minsk, has a background as a controller at the Sfera factory, part of the BelOMO holding. She was an active member of the Liberal Democratic Party of Belarus and participated in the 2010 presidential elections as part of Sergey Haydukevich's initiative group. In 2014, she ran for a seat in the Minsk City Council but was unsuccessful. Following a long absence from the public eye, she was arrested in late 2024 for participating in protests, leading to her conviction for actions that allegedly disrupted public order.
