Margrét Dóróthea Sigfúsdóttir

Margrét Dóróthea Sigfúsdóttir was a prominent Icelandic educator and the former principal of the Hússtjórnarskóli Reykjavíkur, where she made significant contributions to home economics education in Iceland. Born on December 10, 1947, in Fosshólum, she had a long and impactful career, starting as a cook at the Selfoss Hospital before transitioning to teaching and administration. She was known for her engaging personality and expertise in cooking and nutrition, which she shared through various media, including popular television programs. In recognition of her contributions to education, she was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Order of the Falcon in 2012. Margrét passed away on February 28, 2023, in Sweden, surrounded by family.
