Maria Belén Simmermacher

Born on October 4, 1982, Maria Belén Simmermacher was a promising hockey player in Argentina, known for her role in the national junior team that won silver at the 2001 Junior World Cup. After a successful hockey career, she felt a calling towards a religious life and entered the novitiate of the Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matara in 2006. Now known as Maria Vergine dei Tramonti, she currently resides in Lausanne, Switzerland, where she serves as the director of a Catholic university residence while continuing to share her passion for hockey and her faith with others.
