Mária Brdárska-Janoška

Mária Brdárska-Janoška is a living legend of Slovak folklore, celebrated for her vibrant voice and rich storytelling. At 88 years old, she remains an active participant in preserving Slovak cultural traditions, sharing songs and memories from her childhood in the village of Rejdová. Known for her extensive collection of folk songs, Mária is currently working on a book that will include over 500 songs, along with musical transcriptions and personal anecdotes, showcasing her lifelong dedication to the preservation of her cultural heritage.
