María Camila Mora Mahecha

María Camila Mora Mahecha was a 27-year-old subteniente in the Colombian Army, known for her significant achievements in a male-dominated field. She was the first female pilot of unmanned aerial vehicles in Colombia and had trained extensively in military aviation and international relations. Tragically, she was reported in the news following her death on November 26, 2023, in what is believed to be a case of femicide, allegedly involving her former partner, Captain Pablo Masmela, who reportedly shot her before taking his own life.
