Maria Chounti

Maria Chounti is a nurse and mother who recently faced the challenges of caring for her newborn daughter diagnosed with a rare genetic condition known as epidermolysis bullosa, which causes the skin to be extremely fragile and prone to blistering. After her daughter's birth, Maria and her husband encountered significant difficulties in obtaining a proper diagnosis and treatment, leading them to educate themselves about the condition. Maria is also a member of DEBRA Greece, an organization that supports patients and families affected by this rare disease.
