Maria Guțu is a talented documentary photographer from Glodeni, Moldova, who is celebrated for her project "Homeland." Her passion for photography began in childhood and flourished during her studies at the Academy of Arts. In 2024, she received the prestigious Leica Oskar Barnack Award in the "Newcomer" category, recognizing her poignant visual narratives that explore themes of roots and home amidst economic migration.
