At just 17, she became involved with a South African peacekeeper, resulting in the birth of her daughter, Queen. Following the soldier's disappearance, Maria now struggles to provide for her child, resorting to risky means of survival as a sex worker in Sake, showcasing the vulnerabilities faced by women in war-torn regions.
