
Marianna Grznárová
Marianna Grznárová was a renowned Slovak prose writer, poet, and author of children's literature, best known for her fairy tale book 'Maťko a Kubko.' Born on December 1, 1941, in Rudno nad Hronom, she had a diverse career that included working as a teacher, editor, and dramaturge for Czechoslovak Television in Bratislava from 1972 to 1984. Grznárová debuted with a poetry collection in 1966 and later wrote numerous fairy tales characterized by humor and a critical perspective on human nature. After the year 2000, she returned to adult literature with the collection 'Balóny pani Barusovej.' She was also a translator of children's literature and a member of the Slovak Writers' Association.
