Mariano Ozores

Mariano Ozores was a prominent Spanish film director and screenwriter, born in 1926 in Madrid. Known for his prolific output, he directed 96 films that attracted around 90 million viewers, primarily in the comedy genre. Despite criticism labeling his work as lowbrow and often misogynistic, Ozores was celebrated for his ability to connect with audiences through humor and unexpected plot twists. He was part of a notable family in the Spanish entertainment industry, with parents who were actors and several siblings and nieces who followed in the same profession. He received a Goya de Honor for his extensive contributions to comedy before passing away at the age of 98 in 2023.
