Maribel Silva

Maribel Silva was a devoted Protestant leader in Colombia, serving alongside her husband, Isaíd Gómez, in their local church. Tragically, she was one of eight social and religious leaders who were kidnapped and subsequently murdered by the rebel group Frente Armando Ríos in April 2023. The couple's deaths have left their two children orphaned and have highlighted the dangers faced by social activists in Colombia, particularly those advocating for religious freedom and community rights.
