Marie-Amélie de Bourbon-Siciles (1782-1866) was a significant figure in French history, known for her role as the Queen of the French from 1830 to 1848. Born into a royal family, she was the niece of Marie Antoinette and the aunt of Empress Marie-Louise, the second wife of Napoleon I. Marie-Amélie became Duchess of Orléans by marrying Louis-Philippe in 1809. Following the July Revolution of 1830, her husband ascended to the throne, making her the only queen to hold the title during the July Monarchy. She was noted for her charitable works and her efforts to promote education and social welfare throughout France.
