Marie-Clémentine
Marie-Clémentine, later known as Suzanne Valadon, was a remarkable figure in the Parisian art scene of the late 19th century. Born to a seamstress in Limoges, she faced a tumultuous childhood, fleeing to Paris at just 14 years old and surviving by scavenging in the streets of Montmartre. Her life took a turn when she caught the attention of a circus entrepreneur, leading her to become an acrobat. Valadon eventually transitioned from performer to artist, becoming a muse for famous painters such as Toulouse-Lautrec and Renoir. Despite the challenges she faced, she became a celebrated painter in her own right and the mother of Maurice Utrillo, a notable artist.
