Marie-Pierre Rivière

Marie-Pierre Rivière is the head of the bee pathology unit at the Agence nationale de sécurité sanitaire de l’alimentation, de l’environnement et du travail (Anses) in Sophia Antipolis, where she leads research aimed at protecting bee populations from various threats, including the invasive Asian hornet. Her work includes developing innovative tools, such as an electrified wooden frame designed to deter hornets without harming them, thereby supporting the health and sustainability of bee colonies vital for biodiversity and ecosystems.
